Statement of Issue(s) and Justification:

Objectives

  1. To serve as a forum to alert plant pathologists of new diseases, epidemics and potential disease problems of corn and sorghum.
  2. To provide a forum for exchange of preliminary research, research plans and foster cooperative research between agricultural experiment stations and with private industry thus avoiding unnecessary duplication of research efforts.
  3. To provide for interaction among corn and sorghum pathologists and breeders from Agricultural Experiment Stations, US Department of Agriculture and commercial seed and chemical companies.
  4. To form working groups for evaluation of corn and sorghum germplasm and create new and different published materials that can be used by individuals working on corn and sorghum worldwide.
