Attached is the December 2008 newsletter of the Northeast Pasture Research and Extension Consortium which announces the 2009 Annual Meeting to be held March 4 and 5 at the Lakeview Resort near Morgantown, WV. We are making a concerted effort to have more poster papers this year to better show the progress being made in pasture research and extension. For those of you that do not prepare poster papers often or at all, there is guidance in the newsletter if you wish to present one at the Annual Meeting. Contact Rick Kersbergen at richardk@umext.maine.edu if you would like to present a poster paper.

A registration form for the Annual Meeting is on page 7.

I have been impressed with the presentations particularly in the last two years. The Executive Committee has been hard at work to ensure an outstanding program occurs again this year. The following is information from the email sent by Ed Rayburn on 12/14/07 (also attached):

The 12th Annual Meeting of the Northeast Pasture Consortium will be held at the Holiday Inn Arena, Binghamton, New York on March 27 and 28, 2008. Enclosed is a copy of the draft annual meeting agenda (see attachment of email). To know in advance who will be attending the meeting, we are asking members to pre-register. Return the attached NEPC 2008 Annual Meeting Registration form to the address listed on the form or call Becky Casteel whose phone number is on the registration form. To cover meeting expenses a registration fee of $125 is being charged.

Rooms will cost $89/night for single or double occupancy (plus tax). Each individual will need to make their own reservation by calling the Holiday Inn Arena at 607-722-1212. Reservations must be made by March 6, 2008 to be part of the NEPC block of rooms and receive the NEPC annual meeting discount.

Producers attending the annual meeting can have their travel, lodging, and registration fee for the NEPC meeting reimbursed. To start the paper work for reimbursement it is necessary that you call Becky or send in your registration form as soon as possible, preferably by March 1, 2008.

The NEPC 2008 annual meeting is being held prior to the 2008 Northeast Grasstravaganza. Information on the Grasstravaganza is attached.
