A quick reminder for you to finalize your trip to the NC-1034 annual meeting on March 18-19, 2010. Our meeting on Roles for Public and Private Funding of Agricultural Research in the new National Institute for Food and Agriculture Research Funding Context will be held in the Waugh Auditorium of USDAs Economic Research Service (ERS), 1800 M Street NW, Washington, DC. (Directions to ERS at http://www.ers.usda.gov/Contact/Directions.htm ). The NC-1034 Business meeting will be held during the workshop lunch break on Friday, March 19.

We have two suggestions for hotels that you could contact. The first is a very Victorian place, The Hotel Tabard Inn, 1739 N Street, NW, Wash DC 20036 202-785-1277 which has a slightly lower rate. The second hotel is The St Gregory, at 2033 M Street, NW, Wash DC 20036 and they have a limited number of rooms available at the government rate of $226. Their hotel is very nice, is often full, and is unable to hold rooms for us. Their policy is first-come first-served, so if they fill up we will make alternate suggestions. The workshop is Thurs, March 18 and most of the day on Friday the 19th.

The registration fee for the meeting is $100. Please make checks payable to: Montana State University Department of Ag. Econ and Econ and mail them by February 19 to:

Vince Smith Department of Agricultural Economics & Economics Montana State University P.O. Box 172920 Bozeman, MT 59717-2920

There is still room on the program if people have work that they would like to present, but please send in abstracts soon. Please send me an e-mail to let me know if you will (or will not) be attending, so we can get a head count for planning purposes.

All the best David
